Alex Worker
Alex has always had a beautiful fascination with food – how it’s sourced, how it’s shared around the world and how it nourishes the body.
A New Zealander with an international background in food, start-ups and agriculture. He is the Managing Director of Highground Brands, a strategic food advisory agency that is revolutionising the global food chain by exporting sustainable food brands.
He also chairs Future Food Aotearoa, a founders movement driving advancement in New Zealand's Food Tech ecosystem and sits on the Te Hono Steering Committee.
Food production and exportation has long been a mainstay of the New Zealand economy, but Alex says there’s far more scope for success in this sector, particularly when it comes to food technology, and is committed to feeding the globe in a more sustainable way.
Nadia Lim & Carlos Bagrie
Food has always been part of both Nadia & Carlos' life. Nadia knew she was destined to cook from a very young age. Her love of fresh food started at just 12 years old, which led to studying nutrition and dietetics for five years at Otago university, where she learnt the science behind food - this is where Carlos & Nadia met.
Carlos, comes from an unbroken family line of farmers and has deep seated roots to the land. Together they have built the empire Nadia Lim brand through cooking shows, cookbook publishing and the extremely successful recipe & delivery business; My Food Bag.
From this, a deep desire and sense of responsibility to grow and produce good food led them to take over the reins of one of New Zealand’s oldest farms, Royalburn.
Royalburn is about creating a best-practice large-scale, sustainably and ethically focused farm. Their vision is to be the leaders in regenerative and ethical farming. They’re reimagining the farming sector, to find more sustainable and circular solutions to help the land, animals and food sources thrive.
